Sort of a cross between Less Than Zero and The Chocolate War – extremely rich, spoiled kids in New York get bored and deal drugs and play with guns. The girls are extremely shallow and either get addicted to the new party drug (“twelve”) or plot their next social coup. It’s a very fast read, but the ending doesn’t really fit with the rest of the book. Then again the author was only seventeen when he wrote it.
