Actually, after I had a discussion with JYU, we decided there is indeed a difference.<\/p>\n

A “Violent Foreign Crime Movie” would be like a John Woo movie, with a hero shooting insane numbers of bullets, and slow motion shots of doves flying… Whereas a “Gritty Gangster Asian Action Movie” would be more like a Johnny To or Takashi Miike movie, a violent modern noir where most of the characters die.<\/p>\n
