{"id":5786,"date":"2007-11-09T16:24:15","date_gmt":"2007-11-09T23:24:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ikillspies.com\/blog\/2007\/11\/09\/5786\/"},"modified":"2007-11-09T16:24:15","modified_gmt":"2007-11-09T23:24:15","slug":"so-jaded","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.ikillspies.com\/?p=5786","title":{"rendered":"So Jaded"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Damn, what a soap opera <a HREF=\"http:\/\/www.sfchroniclemarketplace.com\/cgi-bin\/blogs\/sfgate\/indexn?blogid=37\">this Reiser thing<\/a> is turning out to be-  not only does it read like a Murderer&#8217;s Guide To Yuppie\/Hipster Life in the East Bay :<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\nPalmer, an artist who was at the <a HREF=\"http:\/\/burningman.org\">Burning Man<\/a> festival in the Nevada desert when police say her son killed Nina<br \/>\n&#8230;<br \/>\nProsecutor Hora showed jurors pictures of the <a HREF=\"http:\/\/berkeleybowl.com\/\">Berkeley Bowl<\/a> groceries found<br \/>\nin Nina Reiser&#8217;s van.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>&#8230; but it also has an all-star cast:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Prosecutor is from the <a HREF=\"http:\/\/www.sfgate.com\/cgi-bin\/article.cgi?f=\/c\/a\/2004\/04\/27\/BAGIL6BDQM1.DTL\">Sausage King trial<\/a>, on which, incidentally, my friend Steve narrowly avoided jury duty&#8230; Summary: family business making great sausage falls behind the times and is required to update entire factory or close due to new cooking temperature regulations.  Oh wait, there is a third option&#8211; shoot the health inspectors.  Yeah unfortunately that really happened.  Who knew the FDA would need bulletproof vests?<\/li>\n<li>The Defense is from the <a HREF=\"http:\/\/www.sfgate.com\/cgi-bin\/article.cgi?file=\/c\/a\/2002\/10\/19\/MN243494.DTL\">Gwen Araujo trial<\/a>.  Summary: That girl is hot.  Oh, actually that&#8217;s a guy.  Let&#8217;s kill her!  The murderers only got 6 years in jail, likely only 3.  As if that&#8217;s not horrific enough, Fred Phelps of &#8220;God Hates Fags&#8221; fame picketed Gwen&#8217;s funeral.  What a classy guy.  Phelps was just sued for $11M; hopefully that is just the first successful judgement.<\/li>\n<li>The Judge is from <a HREF=\"http:\/\/www.sfgate.com\/cgi-bin\/article.cgi?file=\/chronicle\/archive\/2002\/09\/26\/BA234192.DTL\">this awesome case<\/a> where a<br \/>\n<blockquote><p> former couple sent to Death Row in 2002 for luring a Pleasanton student into a specially rigged van where they sexually tortured and strangled her before dumping her body on a snowy embankment. <\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>It&#8217;s no <a HREF=\"http:\/\/www.sfgate.com\/cgi-bin\/article.cgi?f=\/g\/a\/2002\/03\/22\/dogmaulgallery.DTL\">dog mauling case<\/a>, but it&#8217;s still totally Tom Wolfe over here.
